Hello (potential) readers! I’ve tried and failed at blogging many times in the past, but this time it’s for a class, so I hope it’ll stick. Here are some things you should know about me if you’re planning to stick around:
-I’m in my first year of the MSLIS program at Syracuse University, and I’m planning to be a school media specialist when all is said and done (although that, along with pretty much everything else in my life, is subject to change).
-Although it’s my first year here, it is not my first attempt at grad school; I have 2 other graduate degrees, one in Russian area studies and the other in education. You could say I’m indecisive; I prefer to look at it as being a lifelong learner.
-While I am starting this blog to chronicle my thoughts and experiences in library school, particularly regarding IST 511, I do have many, many outside interests, so don’t be surprised if a book review, sports rant, or cat picture finds its way here on occasion.
I’m sure there are many other things I could tell you about myself, but it’s probably best if you experience my sparkling personality gradually. Stay tuned for my thoughts on all things library-related, and for now, because this blog is going to be about my experiences in library school, I’ll leave you with a picture of my favorite library in the entire world:
